e.p.a. partners share insights from their communities with challenges and moments of joy and hope! Today with Dan from Liverpool, UK – Thank you Dan for sharing!
How are you and your community?
In short, it’s been a struggle. We work alongside young people who need support in a normal year so Covid19 brought some new challenges and sadly, ultimately led to the postponement of our International Youth Exchange. That was difficult for all of us.
Parallel to this we have seen a government u-turn and the replacement our of our beloved Erasmus+ with the Alan Turning Mobility Scheme, leaving us with much doubt if, when and indeed how we can play with you all again.
What have you discovered during the last months?
It has however, been great to see the strength of the city and how it’s residents have pulled together to support the vulnerable and those who have been left behind by decisions from the government. We really are an incredible city. I’m prouder than ever of the collective efforts.
What gives you hope?
We predict the challenges will continue and we’ll try our best to keep positive with the hope that 2021 brings us the opportunity to all be together again.
A Happy New Year from your Liverpool Friends.
