The e.p.a. team wishes all of you a very happy and healthy new year filled with all colours of the rainbow! May all your wishes and dreams get fulfilled.
Although some of our projects had to be postponed because of the pandemic, we had a few wonderful projects in 2021:
🌈 The International Youth Exchange in Slovenia from 23rd July to 6th August, hosted by our partner Slovenska filantropija. This project brought together 58 young people from around Europe to discuss the theme ‘Visions, Challenging Borders, Creating Opportunities and Embracing Solidarity’. Our participant Luca described what he has learned: “We don’t have to create conditions to fit in; it doesn’t matter from where you are, where you come from and what you look like.”
🌈 From 18th to 25th September, our partner organisation Nisma për Ndryshim Shoqëror, ARSIS in Tirana hosted an international seminar in Albania for youth workers from 16 countries. We discussed how civic education can be practically implemented in youth work, especially when working with groups with fewer opportunities.
🌈 Our Annual General Meeting was held at the windy Baltic sea in October. It was a weekend full of laughter, games, sharing ideas and sitting by the fireplace. We invited some wonderful people from Hamburg and beyond: Even a few of our partners from other countries joined a few days in advance to discuss a potential future project.
We have some projects planned in 2022 that got postponed from last year. We keep our fingers crossed that they can finally go ahead! Almost all projects already got approved: a youth exchange in Hamburg, a seminar in Liverpool and a seminar in Budapest, and we are hoping to have a few more projects in between.
We are very much looking forward to the new year, to beautiful intercultural encounters, to old and new friendships! We hope to see many of you again soon.
