International Youth Exchange in Tettenborn-Hamburg, Germany

The main theme of the exchange was:
“Triangle of Body-Mind-Society: The Balance Within and Beyond!”

The International Youth Exchange in Tettenborn-Hamburg successfully concluded this week, bringing together 57 young participants from Finland, Bulgaria, Greece, Portugal, Romania, England, and Germany.

Throughout the program, participants reflected on what balance means in their lives. Here are some of their insights:

  • It is very important to keep balance between Body, Mind and Society
  • There is no “the” balance, there is only “a” balance
  • Everyone’s balance is individual
  • Balance is not a destination but a continuous journey
  • To find it, you need to reflect: What do you eat? Do you do sports? Where do you work? Who are your friends?
  • Balance is never permanent — it changes and evolves, sometimes rapidly, sometimes gradually

The program included a variety of workshops, energizers, intercultural evenings, creative activities, and outdoor experiences such as ziplining and canoeing, designed to help participants explore balance in action.

A special highlight was the conference prepared entirely by the participants themselves, which welcomed guests from Hamburg authorities and youth workers from different organisations.

Beyond the official activities, the exchange was filled with joy, open conversations, and friendships that will continue long after the project has ended.

🌍 The most valuable lesson we take away is that balance is not only about the individual — it is also about how we connect with others. Coming from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds, participants discovered that they share the same journey. Together, they proved that every step towards understanding and cooperation makes the world more balanced — and brighter.
