Sicily is were all started 40 year ago, for e.p.a.
Earlier this month we had the pleasure of participating in a Network Partner Meeting in Sicilia, hosted by Moltivolti. Our recap video is already on YouTube (link below) and we would also like to share with you in some pictures our co-work on co-creating opportunities, and building the conditions that allow young people, especially those with fewer opportunities, to experience two weeks of international exchange, justice, and participation, in spaces where their rights are respected.
Facing all the difficulties in the world around us, we felt especially grateful for the opportunity to work with committed partners from our international network and to co organise this PDA, Professional Development Activity, together with Moltivolti in Palermo, Sicily, within the framework of the Erasmus+ Accreditation Project 2025 to 2026, NA_DE04-KA151-YOU-000297567.
The activity brought together young people, volunteers, and people active in youth and children’s work in their local communities. It gave us the space to strengthen our network and our international youth work, to exchange good practices, and to reflect together on how e.p.a. youth exchanges can be organised and hosted in meaningful and inclusive ways.
Participants included representatives of our partner organisations and team leaders from youth groups in Ljubljana, Palermo, Lisbon, and Hamburg, all of whom had already been involved in e.p.a. youth exchanges. Together, we worked to create new opportunities and to build the conditions that make it possible for young people, especially those with fewer opportunities, to take part in two weeks of international exchange, justice, and participation, in environments where their rights are respected.
An important part of the activity was also to support our partners in feeling more confident and prepared to invite and host e.p.a. youth exchanges in their own countries and communities, while encouraging young people themselves to take on a more active role in this process.
Working on these goals together made this activity especially valuable, and we were already looking ahead with excitement to the next international youth exchange in Sicily, in Corleone and Palermo, to be hosted by Moltivolti.
