2026 is a special year for e.p.a. We are celebrating 40 years of cooperation with EU and 50 years of cooperation with the Council of Europe, decades of international youth work, friendships, learning and solidarity across borders. We celebrate what we have achived all together
Remembering our International Seminar in Hamburg, a Professional Development Activity (PDA) within our Erasmus+ Accreditation Project 2025-2026_NA_DE04-KA151-YOU-000297567.
For one week, we brought together our wonderful partners from across Europe and beyond: people with decades of experience in international youth work alongside a younger generation bringing new perspectives, questions and ideas. It became an intergenerational space for exchange, reflection and learning, where everyone could feel safe, respected and encouraged to contribute.
Our aim was to look all together again at “all different all equal”, to see the reality of our young people in all the communities of our partners and participants, to see how international youth exchanges can bring a change.
This seminar was part of a longer process. It followed the International Seminar in 2025, where we began evaluating our work and methods, and two networking partner meetings in Thessaloniki and Palermo in 2026, where we explored more deeply what it means to host an e.p.a. International Youth Exchange. Hamburg gave us the opportunity to bring these experiences together and collectively reflect on what we want to strengthen and improve.
Throughout this process, we are grateful for the ideas, experience and commitment of our partners and the e.p.a. International Council. The diversity of generations, organisations, countries and experiences is what makes this network so valuable.
The Hamburg seminar was therefore also a celebration.
Over the years, hundreds of young people, particularly young people with fewer opportunities and those from disadvantaged communities, have had the chance to meet across borders, discover different realities, find their voices, build friendships and experience international solidarity through our activities.
Behind all these encounters are many years of cooperation, trust and commitment between people and organisations.
As we celebrate this history, we also look forward. Together, we want to keep learning, questioning and developing our work, finding new motivation and strength to create meaningful international experiences and even more opportunities for young people in the years to come.
