Embracing Human Rights in the inspiring light of Sicilia

Facing Challenges Together: Rights Belong to Everyone – or They Are Not Rights at All. Recognising and Valuing Diversity for a Stronger Society, in the Light of Sicilia.

This was a Professional Development Activity – PDA under the Erasmus+ Accreditation scheme 2025-2026 with the project number DE04-KA151-YOU-000297567.

This international seminar in co-creation with Moltivolti & e.p.a. took place in Sicilia from 25 October to 1 November 2025.

Our partner Moltivolti based in the vibrant heart of Palermo (Albergheria–Ballarò), is a social enterprise that creates employment and builds community through shared space and intercultural cuisine from across the globe. It is a living laboratory of coexistence and diversity.

The Moltivolti team shares insights drawn from Sicilia’s complex and often difficult history, as well as their strong expertise in intercultural communication, community building, and social action for migrants and refugees. Together, they foster a welcoming atmosphere rooted in dignity, mutual respect, and inclusion.

This seminar brought together 35 youth workers from 21 European countries and beyond, offering a unique opportunity to share experiences and practices on engaging young people in meaningful empowerment processes.

It also provided space for collective reflection on our educational models, encouraging participants to critically examine and rethink the values and methods that guide their work. The goal is to develop new strategies to support young people more effectively and contribute to building inclusive and stronger communities.

Let’s face today’s challenges together — embracing human rights, respecting diversity, and reflecting in the warm, inspiring light of Sicily.
