Mini Exchange

A group of 6 young people from Hamburg were curious to discover the possibilities of an International Youth Exchange. They walked into the e.p.a. office to learn about their opportunities and to get to know a partner group.

After some group meetings in Hamburg, e.p.a. supported these young people’s initiative. We made contact with an experienced partner group “Up4Change” in Liverpool. In video conferences and e-mails, a date was agreed and a Mini Youth Exchange was planned from 1st – 5th of May 2013 in Liverpool.

During the preparation a special challenge appeared: One of the active members of the group needed a visa to enter the United Kingdom. She went to Berlin, gave all their papers to the UK Border Agency… and unfortunately got her visa two days after the group’s departure.

In Liverpool the groups discussed plans for future co-operation, exchanged ideas, and had lots of fun becoming friends in the process.
