Ndërtimi i Urave përtej Liqenit – embracing universal Human Rights
Pogradec | Albania
17. May 2025 – 24. May 2025
Young people from our partners countries in Albania, Serbia, Slovenja, Slovakia, Bosnia-Hercegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, Greece are very concerned at the current situation in the Balkan countries: nationalisms, ethnic conflicts, re-patriation (deportation). Hate speech and preparedness to get back into conflicts is having a significant impact on young people’s life in the Balkan and beyond. These and other issues have prevented many young people from socializing with peers, from developing their social and inter personal skills in a social and human way. Some fundamental rights can not be exercised: ie protection from violence, setting up or joining groups. Our colleagues in youth work are seeking ways how to accompany their young people trying to cope with discrimination, isolation, conflicts, and how to learn to live in a peaceful community. Our seminar in Pogradec will look at how we respond to the needs of young people, how we listen meaningfully, how we discuss in groups about gender, minorities, nationalities, and how to build relationships and manage conflicts. During the week, 35 youth workers from 21 different European countries will come to share their experiences, understand and respond to the needs of their young people in a sensitive, safe and creative way.
