Sonriamos Tod@S En El Mismo Idioma
This Youth exchange brought together 60+ young people from 6 European countries (UK, Germany, Portugal, Italy, Slovakia, Spain) and was hosted by our partner EIMA in Málaga and Marbella (Spain). It included participants from some of the poorest communities in Europe and this year we have invited young people with hearing disabilites.
Our theme was “Sonriamos tod@s en el mismo idioma – Let’s all smile in the same language” enjoying intercultural understanding, enjoying the priority of the EU Youth in Action Programme this year “Intercultural Dialogue” and the fact we added “signing” as the 7th language. The theme has been proposed by the host group “EIMA”.
Young people belonging to this group have different backgrounds: Gitanos, from Tunesia and with sensory incapacity (deaf) and have the strong wish to understand and communicate with each other and their other European friends beyond all borders of different cultures and languages. They are convinced that sonrisas – smiles are probably the nicest “tapa” – starter to begin our theme Intercultural dialogue or in fact multilogue.
Each group created and presented their own workshop around the theme. One week we have been in Málaga City, the other week in the area of Marbella.
